Protec install & relocation instructions

New install or relocation — same six steps. Use this card every time.

General rules — read first

ACall before you start. 609-267-2666, option 3. Every start and stop of data gets logged on our end.

BScrew it down whenever you can. Sandbag only when the surface won't take a screw.

CThe stainless bolt ships installed — up through the aluminum plate and the dead center of the SWARM. It protects the sensor in transit.

  1. 1

    Go to www.locateunit.com

    • Open the site before you touch anything.
    • Then pick your path — 1A or 1B.
1A New deployment — go straight to section 2.
1B Relocation — pull the unit first, in this order:
    • 1B.1
Call tech support. The data stop gets logged.
    • 1B.2
Unlock the case and unlock it from its anchor. Combo 5150.
    • 1B.3
Hold the power button 3 seconds until it shuts off.
    • 1B.4
Screwed down? Back out the two silver 12" and the black 8". Keep all three.
    • 1B.5
Sandbagged? Lift the bag off. Nothing to unscrew.
    • 1B.6
Bolt back in from underneath, washer and nut inside on top. Snug only, never over tighten.
    • 1B.7
Close it, lock it, then start at section 2 at the new point.

Removal, in order. Call · unlock · power off · screws out · bolt back in.

Travel position. Bolt enters from underneath — only the head shows outside. Threads out the bottom means it went in backwards.

  2. 2

Open the case — combo 5150

    • Orange Apache 2800. Set it flat on the monitoring point.
    • Kit: 2 locks · 8 ft chain · stainless bolt, nut, washer · one black 8" · two silver 12".
    • Everything unused goes back in the box. Nothing is stored anywhere else.
    • Then go to section 3.

    • 3.1
Will a 12" screw drive in? Dirt, gravel, grass, soil — screw it down. Concrete, asphalt, wood — go to section 4.
    • 3.2
Set the case flat in its final spot.
    • 3.3
Only time the bolt comes out. Bolt, nut, washer into the box.

Won't take a screw? Sandbag it no anchors

    • Concrete, asphalt and wood.
    • No screws. No holes used.
    • Bolt, nut and washer stay in and snug.
    • Case flat, weighted sandbag on top. No exceptions.
    SANDBAG

Bolt stays in, head resting on the surface. No screws, no holes.

  5. 5

Lock it shut, lock it down

    • Lock through a hole already in the case — either side.
    • Chain through that same lock, around something fixed: fence, pole, structure.
    • Chain won't reach itself? Second lock at the fixed point.
    • Combo 5150. Spin the dials before you go.
    2nd 5150

Second lock at the post when the chain can't loop back to itself.

  6. 6

    Press the button once

    • One press powers it up.
    • It auto-levels about ten seconds. Hands off.
    • Wait for breathing green / white (7.6).

Auto-levels about ten seconds — don't bump the case.

    • 1B.1
Llame a soporte técnico. La parada de datos se registra.
    • 1B.2

  6. 6

    Presione el botón una vez

    • Una pulsación la enciende.
    • Se autonivela unos diez segundos. No la toque.
    • Espere verde / blanco respirando (7.6).
